Online training on Non-violent communication and facilitation «The Art of Facilitation: Balancing Effectiveness with Care»

This 4 session webinar will be a hands-on, exploratory, interactive experience discovering the joy of facilitating relational space. Our focus will be on co-creating nonviolent, equitable, compassionate, collaborative, and effective containers for groups that come together for a variety of purposes in a variety of settings. Whether it is an urgent business meeting, a polarized group addressing conflict, or a casual training event that you are leading, we will look at some key elements of effective facilitation that will give you support for whatever challenge you are facing.

Program of the training:

Session 1- The Foundation: the interior state of the facilitator. Aligning yourself with your role and purpose in order to be effective.

Session 2- Inviting Collaboration: Exploring conditions that encourage trust, shared power, and a balance of voices.

Session 3- Cultivating a wholistic facilitation style to be able to respond to changing contexts and conditions. Know when and how to bring in order/structure, generate compassion, offer challenges, or create shifts in perspective.

Session 4- Exploring the Intervention continuum: understanding the benefits and drawbacks of high and low degrees of intervention and how to move fluidly between the two extremes.

Woven throughout the webinar will be addressing issues of:

??Agenda and emergence
??How to interrupt to restore connection and realign with purpose
??Dealing with challenges as they arise
??How to support requests and proposals to move through stuck places

Training Fee: any amount between 2500 UAH and 3500 UAH (93-130 USD)(the choice is based on your income and free will)

Facilitator bio:
Kathleen Macferran is Certified Trainer and Assessor for the Center for Nonviolent Communication, Owner Strength of Connection in Seattle

Kathleen holds a vision for a peaceful, just, and sustainable world. She is committed to spending the rest of her days building a world where peace replaces violence, love replaces hate, equity replaces inequity, and all people live meaningful lives. She has worked as a Certified Trainer for the Center for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC) since 2003, and as a CNVC Assessor since 2010 when she pioneered a community-based path to certification. Community system building and conflict transformation are passions of hers.
Kathleen has worked internationally with individuals, community groups, businesses, schools, colleges, faith-based communities, hospitals, families, prison inmates, and correctional and law enforcement employees. She serves as a trainer for the Freedom Project of Seattle, WA, an organization that supports healing connection and restorative communities both inside and outside prison through the strategies of Nonviolent Communication, mindfulness, racial equity, and anti-oppression.

Kathleen offers trainings, facilitation, system building, and mediation using practical skills that lead to reconciliation with ourselves, our loved ones, and our communities. For over 30 years Kathleen has explored ways to restore harmony to communities including two decades as a music conductor and leader of a nonprofit organization, and seven years as a public school teacher. Kathleen is the author of and conductor for Giraffe Tales, a children’s CD setting stories to music. She is the conductor on multiple classical music recordings. ?How to notice and respond to power dynamics
?Strategies to create more shared power, balance of voices and collaboration
?Facilitation styles and how to move fluidly between them as needed
?Continuum of intervention – when to actively facilitate and when to silently track
?Balance between agenda and emergence
?How and why to interrupt to restore connection and effectiveness
?Tracking- self, other individuals, interpersonal dynamics, the group field and purpose.
?How to support participants hearing each other
?How to support requests and proposals that lead to efficiency.
?How to support decision making in groups
?How to engage with conflict when it arises.
?Specific situations and challenges that participants bring
?How to bring more gratitude and celebration to groups you facilitate.

DETAILS:
Dates & Times: 13-16 of June 2020,10:00-18:00

Place: Kyiv, Ukraine. It will be somewhere in the city center with easy access by metro. We will inform you about the exact venue address at least one month prior to the training.

Early bird discount:
– With the deposit paid before 12th of February 2020, the training fee will be 400 USD
– With the deposit paid from 12th of February till 12 of May 2020 the training fee will be 450 USD

With the deposit paid from 12th of May the training fee will be 500 USD
